Sweden won its second match in WFC2014 easily when they beat Germany with 13-3 (3-1, 5-1, 5-1). Star Kim Nilsson showed off his talents with his three goals. And Sweden is now through to the quarter-finals.
New father Karl-Johan Ireus had only been on the court for 21 seconds when he scored Sweden’s first goal against Germany in the World Floorball Championship. And Martin Östholm scored goal number two shortly afterward.
Germany fought well, but Sweden showed why they are reigning champions and pulled ahead to an 8-2 lead during the second period.
It was, yet again, all about Kim Nilsson, professional player in Switzerland. He scored a hat trick in the opening game against Latvia, and another three against Germany today. He did however not beat Rasmus Enström, who was the best scorer on the Swedish team today with his five points.
The match ended 13-3 to Sweden and it is already clear that Sweden is through to the quarter-finals of the WFC. That match is on Thursday at 19.00 at Scandinavium. But Sweden still has a match against archrival Finland in, what can only be seen as, a group final on Tuesday at 19.15.
