The Swedish stars are ready for final in WFC2014. The team had a perfect start against Switzerland in the semi-final and took the lead with 6-0 in the first period. The final score was 10-1 (6-0, 3-1, 1-0). Now the rival Finland awaits in the final.
What should have been a tough semi-final did instead turn into a Swedish show. After just under two minutes, Kim Nilsson, the top scorer, got hold of the ball and assisted Patrik Malmström who scored 1-0 against Switzerland. And this was only the beginning. Rasmus Enström scored 2-0 and later assisted to goal three and four. When the bell rang after the first period the score was already 6-0 to Sweden.
The second period was more even, 3-1, but the Swedes kept their cool throughout the match – almost. In the middle of the second period defender Anton Karlsson pushed a player, which resulted in a red card.
The last period led Sweden to the WFC-final. The score was summed up to 10-1 in front of 10 779 people in the stands at Scandinavium.
In the final, which will be played on Sunday at 15:30 in Scandinavium, the rival Finland awaits. The Finnish beat Czech Republic with 6-3 in their semi-final.
