8/25/2014 4:24:57 PM -

Forty thousand fans have already guaranteed themselves a place at the sports event of 2014 in Sweden. The remaining tickets for the World Floorball Championships in Gothenburg on 5–14 December are now on sale. "This means that floorball fans all over the world can now book tickets to watch their teams’ matches,” says Magnus Nilsson, project manager for WFC 2014.

On Wednesday 27 August it will be just 100 days until the start of the biggest international sports event in Sweden in 2014. Sixteen nations will be on location in Gothenburg on 5–14 December to compete in the Men’s World Floorball Championships at the Scandinavium arena and Lisebergshallen Arena. Group tickets and various ticket packages went on sale in spring and around 20,000 tickets were sold in the first five days alone.

“It was the best start ever for the World Floorball Championships and a clear sign of the enormous interest there is in this event in December,” says Magnus Nilsson.

Ticket sales grew steadily over summer and the number sold has now reached over 40,000. The goal of achieving total ticket sales of 200,000 is clearly within reach.

“That’s what we’re working for and we firmly believe we can do it,” says Nilsson, project manager for WFC 2014.

Time for the next ticket release.
From Monday 25 August you can book match tickets for the entire World Floorball Championships.

“The tickets that we released in spring were group tickets and various ticket packages. From today you can book tickets for individual matches, to make sure you get to see Sweden’s three group matches, for instance. We also know there is big demand from floorball fans all over the world who want to come here and cheer on their national teams.”

Tickets have been priced in line with the ambition to make the championships a massive celebration of the sport of floorball and so that as many people as possible can afford to attend the matches.
Adult tickets start at SEK 100 and youth tickets from SEK 50.
Magnus Nilsson:

“Although there has been fantastic demand for the finals weekend on 13–14 December there are still tickets left for those who have not secured a place yet.”

The World Championships will officially start on 5 December at Götaplatsen cultural centre, at the same time as the Gothenburg Christmas City celebrations, which include Christmas markets, Christmas shopping, entertainment in the city and Christmas at Liseberg. The final will be played in the Scandinavium arena on 14 December.
