This is one of the largest championships ever, doubling spectator records and 16 participating nations from around the world. The tickets for the IFF World Floorball Championships are now being released. It is the sporting event of the year. The schedule for the championship has also been decided.

The 10th IFF World Floorball Championships will be held between 5 and 14 of December in Gothenburg. Sweden, the reigning world champions, is chasing its eighth title and the host city is looking to break the record from 2008.

–The Czech Republic had a total of 104,018 spectators during their championship. We are going to get over 200,000, says Magnus Nilsson, project manager for the championships in Gothenburg.

Tickets will be released on Thursday, March 20. It is the only international championship held in Gothenburg during 2014 and everybody is going to be given the opportunity to experience the party on site. In order to decide on the ticket price for the championships in December, the organizers have looked at some of the recent sporting successes that have taken place in Sweden.

– Both the UEFA Women’s Euro hampionships and the 2014 IIHF World Junior Championships were amazing when they filled the stands. This world championship is going to be a manifestation that will drive our sport to a new level, Magnus Nilsson explains.

Initially our tickets will be sold in packages. One of them, called ”All Event”, includes tickets to all the 48 matches. Prices will start at 1150 SEK for adults and 650 SEK for children.

”Sverigepaketet” (The Sweden Package) includes one ticket to the each of Sweden’s three preliminary matches and will start at 250 SEK for adults and 120 SEK for children.

The tickets for the playoff will start at 450 SEK (300 SEK for children) and will include entry to the semifinals, the bronzematch and the big final.

Single tickets and passes will be released 25th August 2014.

The Scandinavium Arena will be the main arena. The Liseberg Arena will also be used for a number of matches.

– The public will also be welcomed to Fun Zone at the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre. It is a large familyfriendly activity area where the youth tournaments will be held, as well as competitions, gaming, performances and a lot of fun for the whole family. This year’s championships will be a party that no one will ever forget, Magnus Nilsson promises.

The premiere match will be held between Germany and Finland on December 6. Later that day Sweden will play their first match against Latvia.

This year’s IFF World Floorball Championships in Gothenburg will be the largest championship ever hosted by one city in our country. Sweden has previously hosted both world and european championships in football, as well as championships in handball and ice hockey. However, never before has one city been home to all of the competing nations and matches.

– This year’s world floorball championship is the largest sporting event in Scandinavia and we are very proud that Gothenburg is its host, Max Markusson says. He is the event manager at Gothenburg & Co.

– It is also in line with the city’s strategy to have at least one large event each year. We are thrilled that it is floorball, a sport that is under quick and strong development.
