Today it was time for the magnificent opening ceremony of the World Floorball Championship in central Gothenburg, filled with Christmas spirit. Christmas lights, music and speeches. And a lot of rain. The opening ceremony of the World Floorball Championship 2014 had it all, plus a little bit more.
The ceremony began when 350 youths lit up the dark and wintery Avenyn, in central Gothenburg, with flags.

Anneli Hulthén, the mayor of Gothenburg, then declared the championship opened.
The 14 year old singer Julia Kedhammar was there to sing the official Championship song “Dancing for gold” and Linda Pira, one of Sweden biggest rappers, performed as well.
The ceremony ended with the premiere of this year’s Christmas movie, “Julias dream”. The showing of a movie at Götaplatsen is a Christmas tradition in Gothenburg.
