The tenth Men’s World Floorball Championships will be decided in Gothenburg, Sweden, this year. The venues are the Scandinavium arena and Lisebergshallen Arena.

Sweden is the reigning world champion and is on a mission to secure its eighth title. There is tremendous interest in the World Championships, with over 300 participants and ticket sales heading towards a record high.

The 16 nations that will compete for the World Champion’s title on 5–14 December are:

“As the world’s largest manufacturer of engines and a sponsor of the Swedish Floorball Federation for the past two years we see it as a very exciting opportunity to be an official partner and vehicle sponsor for such a massive event as the World Floorball Championships as well. It also gives us opportunities to meet passionate Swedish floorball players and supporters, and of course those who will be coming here from all over the world,” commented Jonas Lindow, General Manager of Honda Sweden.

Since Honda became sponsor of the Swedish Floorball Federation the company has provided cars for the federation’s daily business and attended a variety of floorball events around Sweden. As well as appearing at the two arenas during the World Championships, Honda will also have a presence in the Fun Zone, a gigantic activity area at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre. A variety of fun competitions and performances are being planned here for the whole family.

Since Honda is also providing courtesy cars, international guests and delegates who visit the event city of Gothenburg prior to and during the World Championships will be offered transport.

“The biggest audience for the World Floorball Championships is children and young people in the age group 10–25, together with their families,” says Magnus Nilsson, project manager for the championships in Gothenburg.

He adds:

“We are also working hard to make sure that the event generates sustainable effects and long-term benefits. Honda’s image meshes very well with the aims of the sport and the needs of the floorball audience that will attend this event. We are very pleased that their involvement is now being extended to include the Men’s World Floorball Championships in December.”
