First record already broken - 20,000 tickets sold in five days

3/27/2014 1:21:15 PM -

The 10th IFF World Floorball Championships will be held between 5 and 14 of December in Gothenburg. With 20,000 tickets sold, the initial ticket sales have been deemed a success. The goal is to double previous record-breaking attendance numbers and turn the championships into a party for everyone.

The ticket packages to the only international championships held in Sweden during 2014 were released on Thursday, March 20.

– Our expectations of the ticket sales have already been surpassed. 20,000 tickets sold in the first week of release is a record in itself. It is the best start to any of the floorball championships to date. It also shows that there is a huge interest in being part of the championships live and on-site. The fact that the buyers are from all over the country makes it extra special, says Magnus Nilsson, project manager for the championships in Gothenburg.

With early numbers like these, the overall goal of 200,000 spectators is very realistic. If the goal is met, the championships in Gothenburg will break every attendance record ever made in a floorball championship.

The tickets also include admission to the Fun Zone, a huge family-friendly area in the Swedish Exhibition and Congress Centre. The Fun Zone offers activities such as youth tournaments, competitions, entertainment and performances for all ages.

As of today there are only 3,200 tickets left for the semifinals, the bronze game and the final.

– With this information in mind, I’d urge anyone who wants to see the final live and on site to buy tickets now, Mikael concludes.
