Even fight between media teams

12/12/2014 6:04:50 PM -

This Friday, the traditional media match was played in Lisebergshallen during WFC2014. The Swedish media team played against a team consisting of journalist from all over the world in a thrilling match, which Sweden won after penalty shots.

The start of the match was even and the first period ended in a draw. In the second period and in the beginning of the third period it was tougher for Sweden. The ”World” team dominated the game and one of Sweden's goals was disallowed. The Swedes gradually started to work their way back in the game. With only seconds left of the match they evened the score. When the bell rang the score was 8-8 and the match was settled by penalty shots.

Both team scored in the first round of penalty shots but when the ”World” team missed their two last penalty shots and Johanna Gratjov scored on Sweden's second shot with a lob, the match was done – Sweden won (9-8).

– It was a terrific opportunity to play against collegues from all over the world and I think that everyone enjoyed themselves. It was a tie after three periods and then there were penalty shots and finally we lost against the Swedish team. But the athmosphere was friendly, says  Va’clav Petchman from Czech Republic.
