Latvia and Norway played for 5th place and to the very last it was an even match, which Latvia won with 4-3 (0-1, 2-0, 1-1).
Norway started out as the best team and fairly took the lead thanks to Ole Martin Skau Jansson's after just under half the first period. However, Martins Rajeckis evened the score for Latvia only minutes later and before the second period the score was 1-1.
Norway continued to have control of the game but Latvia was hungrier. Ivo Balodis scored 2-1 and later Martins Rajeckis scored his second goal, with 3-1 to Latvia. Norway lost their way a little in the match and Latvia earned their lead.
This continued in the third period. In just under 20 seconds, Latvia scored 4-1. But Norway would get back in the game. Ole Mossin Olesen scored 4-2 after six minutes and with nine minutes left, the team captain Ketil Kronberg scored 4-3 with a steady backhand. Norway fought to even the score but did not go all the way. And therefore Latvia was awarded 5th place and Norway 6th place.
